Giving Bibles To Pastors In Ethiopia

by | December 3, 2013 | Mars Hill Global, Timeline

There is nothing better on this planet than the living Word of God. It speaks of itself as being sweet, perfect, pure, and true (Psalm 19). It is the most certain way on this planet to hear from the God of the universe. We so often take for granted the fact that our Bibles sit on our bedside table, under the seat in our car, and on an app on our smart phones. Some people around the world really, truly understand the words of the psalmist who said, “More to be desired are [the Scriptures] than gold, even much fine gold” (Psalm 19:10). That’s why Mars Hill Global printed and then distributed 1,000 Bibles in Amharic, Ethiopia’s native language, during Pastor Sutton Turner’s visit last summer.

Today is the second day of the Living for a Legacy through Prayer campaign at Mars Hill Church and this week our prayers focus on Mars Hill Global. An important focus ofour prayer is a church planter and pastor named Werku Golle. As you pray for him, the people in his church, and his ministry today, we wanted to show you who you are praying for. We also want to say thank you for praying and giving toward the Bible distribution endeavor in Ethiopia. God answered your prayers and multiplied your gifts.

God’s Word rejoices the heart (Psalm 19:8)! We can’t wait for you to see their smiles!
